'Moldova playground 1' 2016

At first glance we see a playground full of happy playful children. Moldova is however one of Europe's poorest countries which depends for much of its survival on the money sent home by nationals working abroad. The image upon which this painting is based informs us that the parents of virtually all the children are absent working in other countries.
